We insulate homes using the Blow In Blanket System (BIBS), which the leader of the Passive House Institute says is the most cost effective insulation. We airseal and insulate existing homes using various insulations and techniques. Indoor air quality is very important and we can help. In commercial buildings we can also make suggestions for saving energy.

We know how to build new homes that are way ahead of building codes in terms of energy efficiency and using the current latest technology. Building performance in all homes should be very important. A new home should also be built with good air quality, comfortable, safe to live in. Our homes are tested and inspected by building science professionals to verify that they are built right. There are energy mortgages available for home buyers that enable you to afford a larger mortgage based on these tests.

We can come and look at your existing home and make suggestions at no cost to you. If you are building a new home, we can look at your plans and make suggestions as to insulating and sealing it up at no cost to you. We install the Blow-In_Blanket System, (BIBS), which is blown in fiberglass. BIBS combined with 1.5 inches of rigid foam board gives an R-value of 30.5 for about the same cost of blown in foam but is only about R-19 to 21 depending on the foam used. We combine this wall system with advanced air sealing techniques to make homes that are the tightest in the state. Insulation in a new home should be part of the design process and not an after thought.

As an Energy Star Ally we have the training, experience and the tools to make your home more energy efficient, with better air quality, and more comfortable, while doing it safely. We have the tools to test your home and measure results. As an Energy Star Builder we use these same skills to make energy efficient homes. Actually, we are building homes far beyond Energy Star standards for energy efficiency. A home built to current codes is rated at 100 on an efficiency scale. An Energy Star home has to be rated at 80 which is 20% better than code. The home we are building right now will be rated at about 30-32, which is about 70% more energy efficient than a code built home.
